Anyone here enlist in the military with a college degree/loans?

Written By: admin on July 18, 2009 One Comment

I want to enlist in December when I graduated. The only problem is that I will have 25k in student loans and the Army will not pay the SLRP for private loans (which is fine because I want to be a teacher, so the GI can pay for my masters.) Anyways, the thing that worries me is being able to pay off my loans on military salary. Would my military salary be enough to manage my debt?

Check with the Air National Guard. At one time they paid at least 20K depending upon the field you were going into. If you choose to go active duty, go the officer route as you will make enough to be able to pay off your student loans.
