Im interested in a Two family detached building with a ILLEGAL 1 br apartment downstairs…How does the bank look on this? I know they do not even consider the income but can it stop us from getting a mortgage on the property?

Do the mortgage companies want to see three years from the sheriff sale date or from when the sixth month redemption period ends. I live in Michigan.
I am not assuming anything. I was told by a mortgage broker that it is three years.

just wondering, because we’ve been looking at buying a house and we were pre approved 6 months ago @ 4.75% (not a jumbo loan, less than 250k) we want to place 20k down, probably not 20%.
What are the rates for a traditional 30 year fixed, compared to the FHA loan interest rate? Thanks!

If I want to buy a house for 0k or refinance a 0k house with 0k left on the principal balance, why do the rates differ? I'd still be getting a mortgage for 0k either way, no?
***So generally refinances should get lower rates, right?

The Fed has announced they may cut interest rates in the middle of March. I am currently working on getting a mortgage for a property I will close in mid-April. Should I wait to lock the rate until after the Fed announces the cut?
