The person you are meeting with is a sales person (a Loan Officer or Broker). This person does not make the loan choice. Even so, the lending choice is based EXCLUSIVELY on the numbers and other factors. NOTHING is based on personal appearance, impressions, manners (or lack thereof), etc.
The lending choice is made behind the scenes by a person known as the Underwriter. They are not provided a photo of you or your husband. They have no thought what you wear (nor will they care).
You could show up in pajamas if you want (especially if your income and credit history is brilliant). All the Loan Officer (or Broker) cares about is that you will have the right numbers that will get you a loan (so they can get their comission pay).
