When does the military pay for student loans?
Has anyone ever had the military pay off their school loans? I know sometimes it happens, but what are the conditions under which the military (US) pays off your school loans? I've been wanting to join the Army after school and it occurred to me the other day that I could join more quickly if I took out student loans to pay for my living expenses so that I could go to school full time, and sometimes the military will pay them back if you agree to a certain amount of duty time–which I wanted to do anyway.
The job I have now let's me have some time off during the week to attend classes, but I can only take 2 or 3 at a time and that feels like an eternity. I have resisted anything that would get me into debt because I was in a position that I didn't have to, but does this sound like a excellent thought to anyone? It's something I want to do anyway. I'm concerned about the certainty of the military paying the loan off though; what's the chance it won't happen? Anyone have experiences with this?

IF you qualify( and no not every one does, nor do all loans qualify) the SLRP basically pays off up to X number of dollars (I want to say $30K) in three equal installments over your term of enlistment.. and the first payment does not happen until you have completed all training and have reported to your first duty station. the loan company is paid directly.
