Why does the government have to jump in and save the mortgage giants?

these mortgage giants are the ones that gave loans out to people that couldn’t afford a house. These companies should be held accountable. the american tax payers shouldn’t have to foot the bill. Most of us bought homes responsibly.

I reckon the 80% stake they gained in the process had a bit to do with it. The real question is why won’t the gov. help it’s own citizens that are losing everything they have due to predatory lending?
